Rest is a gift, not a reward you have to earn. These prayers invite you to put down your burdens, quiet a busy mind and receive the rest God offers. Pray one before sleep, on a day off, or in the middle of a busy afternoon when you need a minute to breathe.
Merciful Father, strengthen me with rest. Give me grace to reflect Christ with humility, patience, and love. Shape my character so that my life bears fruit that honors Your name. Establish me in truth and fill me with hope that does not fail. In Jesus' name, Amen.
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness.”
Lord Jesus, guide me as I seek rest. Help me honor You in private and in public, in small choices and great ones. Guard my heart from distraction and help me pursue what is good and true. Keep my steps firm in Your way and make my life pleasing to You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.”
Mighty God, form Christ in me through rest. Train my heart to depend on You more than on my own understanding. Teach me to trust You fully and obey You quickly in all things. Turn my heart toward obedience and keep me from every path that harms me. In Jesus' name, Amen.
“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”
